Meet Miss Emma Jayne

Emma was born on a blustry winter day in the artic tundraknown as the midwest. She was delivered on February 13, 2004 via a planned C-section due to her most stubborn breech presentation. She was 18.5 inches long and weighed 6.14 lbs.

Her parents, Emily and Khaled, were suprised to discover that she arrived genetically enhanced and sporting an extra chromosome. Emma has Trisomy 21, also known as Down syndrome; a secret she kept very quiet throughout her mother's well monitored pregnancy. She continues to suprise her parents everyday as her personality emerges and fills their lives with light.

She had them at hello.

Her parents are still waiting patiently for her chromosomally enhanced superpowers to surface. Emily thinks she will have the power of invisibility while Khaled is convinced she will be flying before she walks.

Her grandparents think she'll be able to do both.

Tune in for more updates on the superhero debate.

I love your superhero reference. My husband and I decided our son Chase had superhuman powers. The only place in the entire Children's Hospital that gets good reception is by his bedside! :)
